CNBC’s Rick Santelli (backed by mortgage traders), called out last week for a “Nationwide Chicago Tea Party” to protest the Obama Administration’s Pork laden Stimulus Plan.
The Boston Tea Party was an act of direct protest by American Colonists
demanding representation in the British Government.
They became known as the original patriots.
As the bailouts spiral out of control, we are forced to fund failed banks. With foreclosures on the rise, we are made the collateral of out-of-control spending. And, when the bills come due, the IRS knocks on the door of self-responsibility.

need a longer time frame- but the idea was great.
The majority of the country voted for Obama and he is pretty much doing what he promised.-Instead of just trying to tear him down the republicans should become the fiscal conservatives they once were and look for solutions to cut the deficit in ways that will gain some support from democrats.You have to deal with reality.

and of those, many are just beginning to find out what they voted for.
I am not happy that my taxes are used to ‘help’ people who have not been careful and taken repsonisbility has I have to encumber no debt and pay all my bills.
Now my taxes will increase and others will get a deal on their debt.
I tend to agree with you on that point.I’ve had to buckle down to keep paying my mortgage on time since my wife has been laid off. I think Bush started that bailout project though didn’t he? maybe we should focus more on pairing back on the banking versus the stimulus plan.
I suspect (and it is scary) that the amount in this bill is so huge earmarks of a few million look puny. I’ve heard that it is more than $33,000 of debt for each person in the US. Sure, I give to charity and I do not want anyone to die homeless. BUT- do I want to saddle my kids, spouse and me with 33K of debt each to pay for others? and it is growing by hte second.
so this part or that part, hard to follow. Some with economic understanding, not congress, should be formulating this stuff. you see the market dumping. That’s message on their take on the plans.

I do hope that Obama realizes the scope of what he is trying to do and will be open to ideas on how to reduce the deficit. In turn-the Republican Party needs to come up with ideas that will work-not just rhetoric.
