So far I’m still happy with my switch to the Pinergy buying group. I’ve had one fill and two partials and saved over 15 cents per gallon off the prices of other discounters each time.

I’ve also been happy with Public Power & Utility (http://www.ppandu.com) as my energy generation supplier. It’s too bad I can’t get rid of CL&P as the delivery provider and their multiple annual rate increases. Do you recall last year they increased delivery rates on the claim that commodity prices had shot through the roof and so had their transformer prices? They got their rate increase, commodities crashed and we are stuck with the bill for their excess profits. Government sponsored monopolies are a bad idea and this is why.

For February CL&P will charge $0.12217 per kWh while PP&U will charge $0.1048 per kWh for a savings of 14.21% on generation charges with PP&U which translates into a savings of $22.58 in February for a household using 1300 kWh of electricity.
